With more than 300 entries from 60 conservation projects, the Camera-trap Photo of the Year competition is on course to showcase a range of extraordinary pictures for another year.
And, with a closing date of 31 July 2013, there’s still time to enter.
The BBC Wildlife Magazine Camera-trap Photo of the Year competition, in association with World Land Trust (WLT) and WLT corporate supporter Enterprise Plants, recognises the importance of remote cameras for conservation, for monitoring wildlife populations and for informing strategies.
This year’s entries are from projects in Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Borneo, Hawaii, India and South Africa, to name just a few countries.
Entry criteria:
A maximum of 12 camera-trap images can be submitted by conservation projects in any of three categories: Animal Portraits, Animal Behaviour, New Discoveries.
Images taken in the British Isles by amateur photographers can be submitted in a fourth category: British Wildlife. The photos must have been taken in the past three years and you – or your organisation – must be the author and owner of the copyright of all photos entered. All photos must be uploaded to www.discoverwildlife.com by the closing date of 23.59pm on 31 July 2013.
