21 Colour Carbon Balance again with the World Land Trust

21 Colour the Glasgow based printer have again demonstrated their commitment to ecological and sustainable print by preserving a further 39,000 square meters of land of ecological importance that was under threat of deforestation in Ecuador. This has been done through the Carbon Balanced Printer Scheme with the World Land Trust for the second year running. ‘We have been the only print business in Scotland to be Carbon Balanced for a year now’ said Trevor Price Managing Director ‘It shows that we are committed to sustainable print and we take the impact of our product and our clients products very seriously’

The Edinburgh Centre of Carbon Management has verified the total amount of carbon that is generated by the company’s manufacturing energy consumption down to the finest detail.

To balance this output the business has preserved 39,000 square meters of forest in Ecuador to ‘balance’ that impact on the environment. ‘We are finding that more and more of our clients are looking at ways to reduce the impact on the environment of their printed products. Fewer companies are buying recycled papers because of the additional cost it can add to a project but by printing with a Carbon Balanced Printer you can have a product that reduces its impact on the environment’ said Trevor Price.

The company ran a second seminar for staff following on from the client seminars held in Glasgow and Edinburgh last September with Jonathan Tame Head of Environment for Paperlinx (photo inserted) updating all of the team at 21 Colour on Carbon Balancing and its benefits for all.

Jonathan also presented to a number of key clients of 21 Colour who have adopted  the World Land Trust Carbon Balancing on their publications.
